ABOUT tHE PLAN

In September 2023 the Gainesville Housing Authority (GHA) and the City of Gainesville were awarded a $500,000 Choice Neighborhoods Planning Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This grant will be used to create a plan to redevelop Lake Terrace and Pine Meadows, and revitalize the East University Avenue Neighborhood. Following the culmination of the Transformation Plan, in March 2026 GHA applied for a $26 Million Choice Neighborhoods Implementation Grant. GHA and its parnters are awaiting the results of the application, which can culminate with the implementation of the Transformation Plan.
